Tại sao Nhà có nhiều Cột?

Men face an invisible pressure: they must be the pillar. In society’s perspective, a pillar is expected to always be "steadfast," truly strong, successful, and wealthy.

As a common belief, if men are assigned to build houses, society expects women to build homes. Women must be homemakers, caregivers, and the "weaker sex" who rely on men…

From family to society, gender norms take shape. Men are labeled as rational, skilled in decision-making, and suited for leadership, while women are often seen as emotional, best suited for caregiving and supporting men.

Gender norms are not only shackles for women, not only burdens that place immense pressure on men, but also barriers to the growth of those who do not see themselves “fitting” into any gender stereotype.

tk

Challenging these deeply ingrained gender stereotypes, Nhà Nhiều Cột envisions homes where:

1  Anyone can become the pillar of the family, regardless of gender or identity.

Caregiving is also a pillar of household responsibilities.

From there, it contributes to building a more equal society, where no one is prevented from living, thinking, exploring, and doing as they wish—simply because they are male, female, or neither.

Nhà Nhiều Cột is a communication campaign initiated and implemented by CARE International in Vietnam and Tuva Communication under the Australian Government's Investing in Women initiative from 2020 to 2023. Since 2024, TUVA Communication has launched phase 2 of Nhà Nhiều Cột, continuing to raise awareness among young people about gender issues and promoting positive practices in reality, working towards the goal of gender equality.
